MGR Women Newsletter - May 2020
Dear Middle Georgia Republican Women,
More than anything else I want to say that I hope all of you are well and staying safe. I have been praying daily for your protection during these uncertain times. I have missed you all so much and look forward to the time when we can safely meet again.
Although we have not been able to have a regular meeting your board members have been moving forward and I want to update you about several things. Our carwash was a huge success. Every one of the tickets have been sold and we added $540.00 to our checking account. Many thanks to Nancy Newell for spearheading the fundraiser and to all of you for selling the tickets so quickly and for the timely manner with which you got the money to Nancy. You are awesome!
Additionally, the board has been working with Stan Bush every week to get our website set up. I am proud to announce that it is up and running. I owe a huge thank you to the board as well as Elaine Hollis and Janet Carter for their time and hard work to get this website set up. The web address is MGRWomen.com. It is still a work in progress but please check it out and let us know what you think. We hope you will like it. We are so grateful to Stan for his time, hard work and especially his patience working with us to get this website up and running. He is a saint!!
As of right now all our regular MGRW meetings, including the annual June Legislative Forum, have been cancelled. We will try to hold the forum on a later date. The Spring Georgia Federation of Republican Women board meeting scheduled for June has been cancelled and has been rescheduled for September 11-12 at Jekyll Island, Georgia. I hope that many of you will plan to attend. It is an informative meeting and we have a great time meeting other Republican women from all over the state.
By now all of you should have received and returned your request for an absentee ballot. Just a reminder that even though you receive an absentee ballot you can still choose to go to the polls on June 9, 2020 to cast your vote instead of mailing the ballot in. Remember to take your absentee ballot with you if you vote at the poll. Either way we want to make sure our voice is heard and ensure election and re-election of our Republican Candidates.
Until it is safe to resume meeting I will be updating you about what is happening by email and of course our new website. Please continue to take the precautions necessary to keep yourself safe from this virus!
Blessings,
Frankie Ross (MGRW President)
